In this class we explore the important relationship between the upper and lower body in tango. For both leaders and followers good torsion plays an important role in making the dance feel connected and effortless. For leaders, torsioning the body helps avoid many of the pitfalls leading with the arms. It also opens a whole range of options not available with a less clear lead. For followers, clean and clear interaction between hips and torso makes ochos and turns smoother and easier and is fundamental in maintaining clear communication with the leader.
