Collegiate Shag *NEW* Sep, Oct & Dec only
August 2010 through
Monday Class
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Level: Pre Intermediate
Instructors: [Tony Fraser]
Event Information
Some basic familiarity with the dance is required, perhaps from a crash course or from social dance knowledge of basic (8ct) rhythm shag.
(Students who are brand new to the dance should take the CRASH courses offered on Sat, Sep 25 and/or Dec 4 prior to taking this class.)

This class will focus on advancing the Collegiate Shag style among dancers. Technique, connection, advanced patterns, and integration with existing skill sets will be covered in each class. This class is designed to simultaneously accommodate students with basic through advanced knowledge of the dance. Take this class if you truly want to SHAG!

Though the class will discuss both single and double rhythm, it will be taught primarily in single rhythm. (Note: Double Rhythm collegiate shag, or six count shag, is the more basic form of shag seen on the social floor today. Single Rhythm shag, or 8 count shag, is a rhythm currently practiced mostly by advanced dancers. Those that dance single rhythm tend to be proficient in both 6 and 8 count basics, much the same way proficient swing dancers tend to switch back and forth between six and eight count patterns.)
