Students should be comfortable at the Intermediate Tango level and/or have some basic knowledge of Argentine Waltz & Milonga.
There is a family of three dances from Argentina: Tango, Milonga and Waltz. They have similar step patterns but the rhythm of each is different.
This class focuses on Milonga and "Vals". Milonga is up-tempo with lots of fast, sycopated steps. Waltz is lighter, happier and faster than tango, and is danced in ¾ time.
Rhythm and small embellishments are taught; posture and the technique of dancing close are emphasized.
