Anderson Mendes & Vanessa Jardim’s [Class Schedule] [Event Calendar]

Anderson joins Dance Manhattan as Guest Instructor again in August & September 2010 this time accompanied by his talented partner Vanessa Jardim.

With a background in ballroom dance, Anderson and Vanessa specialize in Salsa and Samba instruction and performances and are well known throughout Brazil. They focus on social dancing as they believe it appeals to a wide range of dancers, from those interested in its social aspects to those who's dreams are to become professionals themselves.

Their Samba is derived from the master Jimmy de Oliveira, with whom they studied in Rio de Janeiro and whose style they expanded in Sao Paulo. They have helped to spread Samba de Gafieira throughout the world while touring with Jr Cervila's Latin show "CELOS".

Together Anderson and Vanessa have won the following accolaids:

• Champions, 3rd Annual Professional Salsa Competition in Rey Castro (Sao Paulo, Brazil 2008)
• Champions, Salsa Open Championships in Recife (Pernambuco, Brazil 2008)
• 2nd Place, Brazil Salsa Open (2008)

After traveling to France for various performances and workshops in 2009, Vanessa returned to Brazil while Anderson completed a tour of Europe and the US. They've come together again in 2010 to compete in the World Salsa Championships in Brazil and for another tour of Europe and the US.
