Here's some background on these two exquisite dancers/instructors:

Ricardo Calvo

Master of Tango, dancer, choreographer and director of shows, world renowned Ricardo Calvo was born in Rosario, Argentina.

His first teacher was his father who lived the golden age of tango. Over time, his particular style of dance and teaching was influenced by his other teachers: Victoria Colosio as choreographer and dancer born in Rosario, and the dancer portegne Pocho Pizarro.

In 1990 with Marisa Talamoni, his partner at the time, Ricardo began a successful 12 year touring career, which included 36 international tours. In 1999, he took the tango to Israel and founded the school "Querido Tango" alongside Kelly Sarafaty.

Historical researcher and expert in the "essence" of tango, Ricardo has written articles and lectured worldwide. As an educator, he has created a teaching method that is the sum of all of his experiences. This has led him to teach Tango, Milonga and Waltz Argentina around the world and to develop a teacher training program for Tango so that he may pass along the art!

His long and illustrious professional career includes performances in the theater, on television, and at festivals alongside other great artists and musicians, too numerous to mention here.

In 1993, he founded his own company which performs internationally and he is currently staging the show "Tango Sin Fronteras."

Sandra Messina

Dancer, choreographer and actress, born in Buenos Aires, Sandra graduated from the National School of Dance. Her work eventually took her to France, where she’s lived for 18 years. In Sandra’s varied dance career she’s performed all forms of dance in operas, movies, and festivals, all of which eventually leading to her love of tango and partnership with Ricardo Calvo.

Along with other artists, she has created the "Tango Cabaret”, a contemporary cabaret based on the Argentine culture. "Tango Cabaret”, which blends dance, theater, singing, circus, and music, was presented in Paris for more than three years in places such as the Cabaret Sauvage, stars, Cirque Bouglione and Dance Festival in Villeneuve D'Ascq.

At the same time Sandra appeared as an Argentine Tango dancer with the orchestras of César Stroscio, the Cuarteto Cedron and Juan Carlos Caceres. She was choreographer and dancer in the opera "Tango My Love" by Jorge Zulueta and Jacobo Romano, performing to raves at the Montreux Festival.

In 2005, Sandra met teacher and subsequent tango partner, Ricardo Calvo, who was instrumental in her career as a tango teacher and dancer. They merged their knowledge and experiences which led to a long list of projects, including the educational project "Training for teachers of Argentine Tango." Together they developed a style of Tango that is fresh, elegant, original and very popular with social dancers around the world.
